Bespoke shoe lasts, construction and finishing differ significantly from that found in factory-made footwear. But how can parts from bespoke shoemaking become accessible to more people via cheaper factory-made RTW shoes? Episode 5 of the Shoesperk Podcast explores this question with Maslow So from Mori of Shoemakers.
Maslow So hails from Hong Kong and is the mind behind Mori of Shoemakers, an innovative project which blends elements from both custom bespoke shoes and factory made RTW shoes in an intriguing blend. Mori works with various bespoke shoemakers from around the world designing lasts and models; then works with factories in China to hand welt hand welted beautiful looking shoes at very competitive prices, this project intrigued me greatly and I was eager to hear more. So we met to talk more about it all merging custom made with factory made versions.
